FREE Homicide Prevention and High-Risk Domestic Abuse Training

Due to popular demand, further sessions of the Homicide Prevention and High-Risk Domestic Abuse throughout 2026. City of York Council, North Yorkshire Council and North Yorkshire Police collaborated to develop this training following A MARAC workshop held in June 2024.

The session will ask the question how can agencies or partners work better together to help reduce risk and serious harm and prevent the escalation of domestic abuse?

Delegates will develop an understanding of how to assess risk and how to make appropriate referrals.

This free training is available for professionals in North Yorkshire and York including staff from healthcare, mental health services, primary care, hospital settings, Housing Associations and charities, probation, drug and alcohol services, schools, Department for Work Pensions. This is not an exhaustive list.  

Staff from North Yorkshire Council and City of York Council should book this training via their own internal learning provision (e.g. Learning Zone for North Yorkshire Council).
