Safeguarding Week 2026: free events in North Yorkshire to help you keep yourself and others safe
North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board is supporting Safeguarding Week 2026, working with partners across the region to share practical advice, learning and support to help people keep themselves and others safe.
Free safeguarding sessions across North Yorkshire and the region
Safeguarding Week takes place from 15 to 26 June 2026, bringing together partners from across North Yorkshire, the City of York, East Riding and Hull.
Together, Safeguarding Adults Boards, Children’s Safeguarding Partnerships and Community Safety Partnerships have developed a wide programme of free online safeguarding sessions, learning events and interactive workshops.
This year’s theme is “Safeguarding is everybody’s business” — reflecting the role we all play in recognising concerns and supporting people to stay safe.
Following the success of last year, the 2026 programme includes over 40 sessions, most of which are open to the public as well as professionals.
Topics include:
- Domestic abuse
- Self-neglect
- Modern slavery
- Drug and alcohol use
- Learning from local and national safeguarding reviews
These sessions are designed to build confidence, raise awareness and share practical guidance that can be applied in everyday situations.

It can be:
- Noticing when something doesn’t feel right

- Knowing where to go for help or advice
Safeguarding Week is an opportunity to build confidence, increase awareness and make sure more people know how to respond when it matters.
