Safeguarding week 2023 logo

Programme of free on-line sessions announced for Safeguarding Week 19 – 23 June 2023

Partners from Safeguarding Adults Boards, Children’s Safeguarding Partnerships, Community Safety Partnerships across North Yorkshire, the City of York and East Riding and Hull came together and developed an extensive programme of learning events, seminars and interactive sessions which all underpinned this year’s theme – ‘Safeguarding is everybody’s business’.

Sessions were held throughout the week and were available for professionals as part of their personal development and members of the public for awareness and introduction to key topics.

Thank you

We would like to thank everybody who has taken part in the sessions from presenters, organisers and attendees and to everyone who has shared their experiences and stories during the week.

In addition to the online programme of events, lots of activity has been taking place across communities and localities. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has hosted and supported events as well as helped to spread the message that Safeguarding IS everybody’s business.

Safeguarding is everybody’s business

The Safeguarding Week campaign offers us the opportunity to shine a light on key safeguarding topics – not just to protect – but prevent abuse and neglect, however as the curtain falls on Safeguarding Week 2023 – our responsibility to keep people safe continues.

Resources and information from the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board sessions will be shared on our website shortly.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at Safeguarding Week 2024
